Rattlesnake Ledge, North bend,WA
On a rainy afternoon, we got up early to catch the last bit of fog that creeped over the beautiful mountain range at Rattlesnake. This spot is usually crowded with tourists and hikers on the weekends. Luckily, the weather kept most people away which left the lake open for us to all roam around. After Jacquie had gotten her makeup done by the talented Hailey from Offblackarts in her home studio in Seattle. The models Jacquie and Zach traveled to the shoot destination. Tiffany who assembled a stunning piece of autumn colored bouquet, she is a florist with her own shop in Pioneer Square. Her prices for bouquets are very reasonable. This bouquet cost close to $70. This weather would make many photographers pack up their lens and camera. But I can’t help but love the rain in my shoots. It definitely made this styled shoot a bit more romantic. The bejeweled drops of rain on the bouquet and umbrella added a nice touch. They are a gorgeous young couple of color. I think representation is important. So often, when you scroll through online you see the same types of brides and grooms. Diversity is important because it matters. There is not many younger diverse couple who get married these days or so it seems when you open your social media accounts. However the reality is that there is not enough representation on popular wedding accounts. I choose these two because they are a real life couple who happen to have a Mexican heritage and are young couple.
I took a minimal approach to this styled shoot. Since I wanted it to center around an affordable elopement/ bridal shoot. Weddings cost so much for the average couple that often it takes away from the true meaning, a union of two people in love. I wanted to take the meaning of it and really capture the raw feeling of it. Thats why I choose a minimal approach to this bridal styled shoot. The real meaning of elopement is to be adventurous, the thrill and ambition. When two people are not concerned of all the gimmicks or glamour of traditional thousand dollar wedding. This beautiful wedding dress is from Tobi and was under $100. Yeah, thats right. It looks just as beautiful as a designer dress. Bridal dresses can be stressful when planning a real wedding or a styled shoot. In particular styled shoots, most couples spend a large cut from their wallets. Naturally, there are many more concerns of getting the dress dirty, dry cleaning, ironing, and many other concerns. This dress did not cost a whole lot and it was the perfect style to move around without draping the ground. It was perfect for the shoot and turned out stunning in the photographs. Just take a look for yourself! Remember Elopement shoots are supposed to be fun and carefree! I hope that these photos show other couples more representation in the wedding industry.
